Position Summary

The Test Engineer Supervisor is responsible for keeping the Test workstations operational to meet manufacturing schedules including all related software and hardware.  Responsible for development and implementation of test procedures that ensure quality in accordance with ISO guidelines and Electronic Technicians accountable to following procedures as outlined.    

Essential Functions

Support the success of the manufacturing schedule assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.

Develop, document and maintain test procedures and workstations including third party test equipment (ie; Audio Precisions) in compliance to test parameters provided by Engineering Department.

Maintain workstation used to load EPROMs including the EPROM burners and computer.

Maintain test workstations and schedule periodic maintenance work in advance and identify preventative maintenance opportunities in advance of issues.

Review “in process failure” for root cause and determine how product failure was missed during first pass.  Provide results to engineering with proposed possible QA test procedures.

Supervise Electronic Technicians to meet test criteria within to meet the production schedule on time.

Hold direct reports accountable to follow the written work instructions and Operation standards, in addition to supporting and meeting production goals.

Train and educate Electronic Technicians to increase their skill levels.

Communicate daily with Electronic Technicians to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to meet production goals.

Follow up daily with Electronic Technicians to discuss performance, production, and daily needs to meet both.

Prioritize work for the Electronic Technicians to meet production / sales needs.

Essential Tasks

Assist in meeting daily manufacturing and RA needs by performing QA testing on the products. This includes diagnosing problems that require a higher level understanding of the circuits on many of the newer digital and/or surface mount assemblies.

Provide budgets and requisitions for material needed to maintain QA workstations.

Assist engineering with prototype testing.

Identify and implement Corrective Actions for Manufacturing errors found during root cause analysis.

Communicate and coordinate testing criteria with Manufacturing and Facility Manager to meet production schedule requirements.



Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering


Minimum of three to five years’ experience with software/hardware testing


Computer Skills

Ability to use MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Ability to create procedures using Audio Precision or other third party computer software

Ability to learn MiTek’s internal computer systems

Other Requirements

 Familiarity with testing equipment used for electronics

 Experience required in analog and digital audio

 Experience with Ethernet communication

 Experience with circuit design
