The Position:

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Senior Lead for Sheet Metal.  Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work efficiently. 

The Senior Lead for Sheet Metal position is responsible for fabricating, assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal products for commercial audio equipment.  Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.

Essential Functions

  • Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, and dimensions and tolerances. 
  • Scribe reference lines on work pieces as guides for cutting operations, according to blueprints, templates, sample parts, or specifications.
  • Test and adjust speeds and actions, according to product specifications.
  • Set blade tensions, heights, and angels to perform prescribed cuts. 
  • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
  • Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or bed of machines.

Essential Tasks

  • Supervises, organizes daily workloads.
  • Performs quality checks on all MIG/TIG welds and sheet metal products.
  • Perform machine maintenance and setup by loading work pieces, plastic material, or chemical solutions. 
  • Measure and examine completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
  • Adjust ram strokes of press to specified lengths and position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces. 
  • Train others - leadership capacity.



High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) 


At least three years of sheet metal experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment


Computer Skills

  • Ability to learn MiTek's Internal System
  • Basic Knowledge of Solid Works and Cincinnati CNC software a plus

Certification Requirements

Ability to become Forklift certified and drive a forklift.

Other Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of machines and hand tools and the ability to use the appropriate one safely
  • Proficient understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control
  • Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and       their applications
  • Must be able to operate several sheet metal machines, including the Laser with no supervision
  • Interpret blue prints as well as receive verbal instructions
  • Estimate materials and time required to complete various tasks
  • Ability to train others

Work Environment

Manufacturing and warehouse setting, loud, varied temperature, and fast paced.
