Machine Operator I - Midwest (2 positions)


Operate computer-controlled pick & place and wave machines. Maintain cellular inventory. The Machine Operator works with direct supervision; Making some changes to machine settings (programs) to accommodate new work orders and change over's. Machine operator is also responsible for supplying components to machine for processing.

  • Demonstrates traits that result in increases in shop production while decreasing costs.
  • Operate computer-controlled machines using Bill of Materials and CAD data, and confer with supervisors or programmers to help resolve machine malfunctions and make suggestions to determine the most effective use of equipment.
  • Review program specifications or blueprints to determine tolerance of parts, finished work piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences, assisting others as required.
  • Monitor machine operation and control panel displays, and compare readings to specifications in order to detect malfunctions.

  • Perform routine inspection to ensure accuracy of output and conformance to quality standards and make adjustments as necessary. Complete required quality checks and build fixtures as required
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels and note adjustments to be made as necessary.
  • Intermediate knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining to painting including but not limited to wearing of a respirator and ability to read and follow SDS recommendations and requirements.

  • Education
    High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

    One year related experience in a manufacturing environment



       Computer Skills

               Basic understanding of MS Office Programs (Excel, Word and Outlook)


       Other Requirements

    ·      Intermediate understanding of electronic components

    ·      Intermediate use of tools/equipment

    ·       Ability to become lockout tagout certified

    ·      Ability to follow OSHA safety standards

    ·      Ability to safely operate all linear grooving equipment

    ·      Must be able to detect and identify non-conforming parts and take action to correct

    ·      Must be able to make minor machine adjustments to maintain parts within required part tolerance

    ·      Perform quality checks per work instructions

    ·      Must be able to re-stock cellular supplies

    ·       Ability to wear a respirator and meet safety and medical requirements by OSHA, including but not limited to cleanly shaved facial area.

    ·      Competency and training one of the following machines:

    o        Holzema, Shoda, Rotomold, Heian, Schone, Carpet Cover Robots, Single Head Saw, V-Groover.
