Material Handler III

The Material Handler III is responsible for receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.  This position performs manual and clerical duties related to receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies as well as maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials from suppliers.  The Material Handler is responsible for issuing work orders and the set up of kits for Production.

  • Perform daily counts on raw, in-process and finished goods, and report discrepancies. Confer and correspond with Manufacturing Manager to rectify problems and shortages.
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
  • Organize and document storage and movement of materials to satisfy production schedule and deliver or route materials to departments.
  • Use work orders to pull parts and set up kits for Production.
  • Verify incoming shipments, examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. • Daily inspection of incoming materials. • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials. • Route defective products or contaminants to Purchasing for disposition. • Record quality results and will ensure compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements for incoming raw materials and sub-assemblies only.

  • Record shipment data, such as damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes.
  • Identify and correct data errors in system and on hard copy, even if caused by others.
  • Responsible for storage of received goods.
  • Train new partners.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Policies, Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Education
    High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

    Minimum of two years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment


    Computer Skills
    •Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    •Ability to learn MiTek's internal systems

    Other Requirements

     Use of tools/equipment

    Ability to become forklift certified

    Ability to anticipate needs of production based on direction from supervisor

    Ability to perform cycle counting in MiTek's internal computer systems

    Ability to read blueprints

    Ability to follow through in a timely manner

    Ability to identify product
