POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing all of the Electrical and Mechanical design, development, testing, and debugging of circuitry for audio products, PCB design using PADS software, mechanical design of sheet metal enclosures, aluminum heatsinks, metal chassis, etc for audio products, generation of new product technical documentation – schematics, diagrams, voltage charts, test procedures, and parts lists. Will also plan, direct, and coordinate activities for the Phoenix Engineering Department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Work with Sales team to define new products and create development timelines. Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department that adheres to ISO requirements. Directs activities in support of Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO-9000 quality system compliance. Assures that quality of products meets internal and external customer requirements, and maintains a safe working environment and a strong customer focus Investigates major electrical/design engineering issues and implements corrective actions, which may result in changes to product design, manufacturing or field notification. Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components. Recognize failures and set up problems, determine need for appropriate verification; operate programmable AC auto tester; sampling and real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special AC test fixtures. Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems and to provide information on product use. Design basic circuitry and draft sketches for clarification of details and design documentation using drafting instruments and computer aided design (CAD) equipment. Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
ESSENTIAL TASKS Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services. Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, and work with material planning to ensure vendor/supplier negotiations are advantageous. Work with HR to recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.Ability to travel both within the US and Internationally 30% of the time

Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience Three to Four years Audio Engineering Experience at a senior level and two to three years Managerial Experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Proficient with all MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) • Proficient with Solidworks, PADS, Pro-E, and AutoCAD, PSPICE, ORCAD
• Experience with manufacturing processes related to sheet-metal and extrusions • Working knowledge of AIGA Core Tools • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and test equipment • Advanced troubleshooting and electronic understanding • Ability to use test and repair equipment • Knowledge of test result documentation • Understanding of testing and troubleshooting of components • Set Up and Operate AC/DC Digital Test
