ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss product quantities needed and used. Implement sourcing strategies to support MiTek’s goals and objectives, providing MiTek competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, products, and services. Analyze consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs. Develop and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement.Evaluate suppliers, cost, quality, and delivery performance then recommend areas for improvement. Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned commodities. Develop sourcing strategies to control MiTek’s purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source of supply. Monitoring the prices and quantities used and recommend cost saving adjustments. Provide management with updates and required information.
ESSENTIAL TASKS Analyze reports and expedites production of work orders. Willingness and ability to learn strategic purchasing and scheduling skills, MRP, and vendors. Analyze and execute Action reports with the assistance of Material Planning Manager or other experienced Material Planners. Enter, print, expedite and distribute purchase orders and work orders

Education
High School or its equivalent
Experience
One to two years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Intermediate understanding with all MS Office Software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to learn MiTek’s internal systems and other programs as needed.
• Full knowledge of MRP buying and scheduling systems
• Full knowledge of market conditions
• Full knowledge of quality requirements and all planning functions
• Full knowledge of bills of materials and purchase orders
• Comfortable with multiple, simultaneous responsibilities
• Ability to compile data and prepare written reports
• Ability to train others
• Ability to manage inventory movement
• Ability to learn purchasing and scheduling procedure

• Ability to type 45 WPM
• Ability to submit a QCAR
